My name is Sofija, and I’m from Montenegro. I’m currently in my second year of university, studying Design and Multimedia. Various forms of art have been present in my life from a very young age, gradually becoming an essential part of who I am. I attended a secondary art school and graduated as a painter, after which I decided to pursue fashion design, something I had always dreamed of. I’ve since combined my drawing skills with fashion, allowing me to express myself in a unique and personal way. Becoming a designer once felt like a distant idea. However, in just two years in the fashion world, I’ve participated in two editions of Montenegro Fashion Week, won first place in the Blanc Competition, taken part in smaller runway shows across Montenegro, been featured in guest appearances and interviews, and participated in Feeric Fashion Week and now the IFF. These experiences have allowed me to connect with other designers and artists on a much broader level. Fashion, as a form of expression, deeply resonates with me, but I find myself most drawn to costume design for the stage. In the future, I see myself working in theatre, where I can fully explore that passion. Aspects of the natural world - its structures, patterns, and imperfections inspire me as a designer and I strive to integrate my love for literature and other forms of art into my work. In line with that, as i’m passionate about nature, I’m deeply committed to environmental awareness and speak up against excessive consumption. Sustainability in fashion is, therefore, extremely important to me.
